Lesson name: The Power of Friendship 

Date: 16/10/2024 

Grade: 2nd Grade 

Objective: To foster understanding of the importance of friendship and collaboration in social contexts, using English vocabulary. 

Outcome: Students will use English vocabulary related to friendship and collaboration to express ideas and participate in group activities, demonstrating understanding of the importance of these values in social contexts. 

Achievement Indicators: 

● Identify the characteristics of friendship according to English vocabulary. 

● Provide concrete examples of situations where they have collaborated with others using English vocabulary. 

● Explain in their own words why collaboration is important in social situations. 

● Differentiate between positive and negative examples of friendship in stories or situations presented. 

DBA 

#1 Express simple ideas on studied topics using words and phrases. 

#4 Mention cultural aspects of their environment, using known vocabulary and expressions. 

Standards:

● Comprehension: 

- I follow the sequence of a simple story. 

- I understand short and simple descriptions of known objects and places. 

- I follow instructions related to class and recreational activities proposed by my teacher. 

Production

- I write personal information in simple formats. 

- I demonstrate knowledge of basic English structures. 

Classroom context: Classroom 

Vocabulary: Friend, friendship, collaboration, teamwork, support, help, respect, trust./ Amistad. amigo, colaboración, trabajo en equipo, ayuda, apoyo, respeto, verdad. 

Exploration Phase (30 minutes)

To start the class, students will be asked what it means to be a good friend and how this is portrayed in the story. Then, they will be asked what qualities are important in a friend, and finally, the question "How did Winnie's friends support each other?" will be posed. 

Structuring Phase (40 minutes)

 Students will be organized into small groups, each assigned a small fragment of the story where friendship is reflected, and they will present it to their classmates. 

Evaluation Phase (30 minutes)

After all the groups have presented, each student will create a page for the "Friendship Book" in which they will include illustrations and sentences summarizing what they learned about friendship.
