Lesson Name: We Are All Special

Grade: 2nd Grade 

Objective: Strengthen knowledge about cultural diversity and the acceptance of differences in society. 

Achievement: Demonstrates understanding and respect for cultural diversity, identifying and valuing differences in customs, traditions, and lifestyles present in their environment and society. 

Achievement Indicators: 

● Names different cultures and describes one characteristic of each. 

● Demonstrates attitudes of respect and acceptance towards classmates. 

● Compares at least two customs from different cultures, identifying similarities and differences. 

● Collaborates with classmates in group activities. 

● Pronounces vocabulary related to weather and emotions correctly in English.

Vocabulary: different, special, important, unique, support, friendship / Diferente, especial, importante, único, apoyo, amistad. 

Exploration Moment (30 minutes)

 The class will start by asking the students what makes them different from their classmates, and from that, they will discuss: “Why is it good to be different?” and “How can we support our friends who are different?” 

Structuring Moment (40 minutes)

Students will be divided into groups and given materials like paper, scissors, colors, etc. Each group will create a mural that represents diversity, using images, words, and/or phrases. They will then present it to the class, explaining what they included and how it represents diversity. 

Evaluation Moment (30 minutes)

 Each student will write a promise about how they will support friends who are different or how they will celebrate their own uniqueness. They may share their promises if they feel comfortable.
